Pickups

Each pickup is made by hand using a scatter wound method for vintage tone and unique voicing.

MadJones pickups are hand wound using 42- and 43-gauge coil wire. I make pickups individually, or in paired sets depending on the customer’s needs.

I make all style of pickups, in four general models: the MJ T-tone; the MJ S-Tone; MJ Hummer; and MJ J-90. I can wind to standard specs, over-wind, or under-wind depending on each customer’s particular tonal preferences.
